Scheduled ICON downtime
Summary:
ICON will be down for significant upgrades for up to 48 hours, starting
August 7. If you have extreme extenuating circumstances, contact icon@uiowa.edu
to discuss alternative arrangements.
Details:
We will be moving to Desire2Learn Learning Environment version 8.1.3
on August 7, and the upgrade may take up to 48 hours. This upgrade brings improved
performance and speed (especially in gradebooks with large numbers of students
and grade items), several new tools (including Rubrics and Competencies), and
at long last, the ability to copy homepage layouts and custom widgets from
one website to another. You will no longer have to rebuild your homepage every
semester!
We did our best to schedule this at a time when it would affect very few courses, but unfortunately, there are always some instructors who will be adversely affected by the timing. If this presents a serious problem for your course (e.g., the Public Health courses with finals on August 10), please contact icon@uiowa.edu as soon as possible so we can work out alternative arrangements for you.
