Description:

[RESOLVED] Internet Explorer 8 Users are Experiencing Issues with ICON

This issue has been resovled. Contact ICON Support if you are experiencing issues with IE8.

Users using (Internet Explorer 8) IE8 to access ICON may experience a variety of issues, as IE8 is not an officially supported browser.

One issue that users have reported is that, when using IE8, instructors experience a timeout when attempting to upload a file to the content area.

Another issue that has been reported is that users can not send an email attachment when using IE8.

The workaround we have found for this solution is to add uiowa.edu to the list of sites to view in Compatibility mode. To do so:

1. Click Tools in the Internet Explorer Command Bar
2. Select Compatibility View Settings
3. Click the Add button to add uiowa.edu to the list of sites that are displayed in Compatibility mode
4. Click Close

We have reported this issue to the software vendor, and they are working on a solution.
