Description:
HTML files with inline JavaScript that are opened by ICON's HTML editor will become corrupted.
An updated HTML editor was introduced with the upgrade to 8.3. This HTML editor does not know how to handle JavaScript and will automatically attempt to "fix" the JavaScript, which will result in the JavaScript not working. This issue will affect HTML files with inline JavaScript that handles streaming media. We are investigating this issue, and are in contact with the vendor regarding this problem.
Workarounds:
- Use QuickLink to place a link in the Content area to the HTML file (this avoids opening the HTML file with ICON's HTML editor.
- If the file has allready been opened with ICON's HTML editor, upload the file again to the File Manager. So long as the uncorrupted file has the same file name as the corrupted file, the link to the Content area will remain intact.
- Refer to an external JavaScript file in the HTML code for that page.
