The time limits I set for my quiz are not being enforced. Why?
Time limit settings for quizzes are not enforced unless the Enforced checkbox is checked. (You’ll find the Enforced checkbox under Timing on the Restrictions tab.)
When the Enforced box is checked, all the settings under Timing are also enforced; these include the Time Limit, Grace Period, and Late Submission settings.
Late Submissions Settings:
- Allow Normal Submissions - students will be able to submit the quiz (but not begin it) after the allotted time period; no points will be deducted.
- Use Late Limit of x minutes - students will be able to submit the quiz after x minutes but will get a 0, which the instructor can override. ICON will keep unsaved answers for the instructor to view.
- Auto-Submit When Attempt Exceeds Time Limit - ICON will keep only those answers already saved by the end of the time limit. If the student takes no action (to save answer or submit) after the time limit expires, the quiz will be displayed as "in progress" and no score will be given.
